"Art is not a hobby,
but the fullest expression of human dignity." Pope Benedict XVI
"What would it be like if you lived each day,
each breadth, as a work of art in progress?
Imagine that you are a masterpiece
unfolding every second of every day,
a work of art taking form with every breadth."
- Thomas Crum
"Art elevates the human spirit. It changes people's lives, one experience at a time. It's not really a product, it's basically an emotional experience." Mark Smith
"I want to make the beauty and wonder of the world visible to others!" - Yvonne Ward
Here are the beautiful, luminous watercolors and pastel paintings from the studio of Yvonne Ward (Divine Brushstrokes Fine Art). Yvonne's artwork captures the beauty, spirit and essence of her subjects. She is primarily a self-taught artist with an extensive background in the arts. Yvonne paints commissioned artwork and sells her paintings in art galleries. In addition, she has reproduced her artwork onto blank note cards and tee-shirts, which she sells through the art gallery venue.
Two years ago, Yvonne began her "Young Artist Studio" children's art program for youngsters ranging from age 9 to 12. The program's mission is to "offer a world of art just for kids!" Yvonne is now successfully into her 3rd year of teaching kids how to draw, sketch and paint, something she loves to do because it allows her the opportunity to share her passion for drawing and painting with young children. The "Young Artist Studio" is also an effective way to introduce children to the world of art and to inspire them to want to become artists.
